Joining Hearts & Hands, Ltd., a non-profit 501(c)3 founded by William and Joanne Cala, promotes improved educational, health and economic conditions for African orphans and their communities by building schools, sponsoring health clinics, providing secondary scholarships, and nurturing sustainable development initiatives – all to promote dignity, opportunity and hope.

Through the generosity and support of sponsors we provide secondary school scholarship awards for tuition and fees for students orphaned or in severe poverty situations in rural Kenya and northeastern Tanzania. The government funds public education through Grade 8. Most orphans cannot afford the costs of $500 per year to attend secondary school and they prove to be the highest performing students.
