First Presbyterian Church Presents Gift to Joining Hearts and Hands
A new classroom will be built in Kenya and two students will receive secondary school scholarships in memory of
Phillip Guild and in honor of Bertha Guild. On December 23, the First Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls
presented a gift and plaque to William and Joanne Cala, founders of Joining Hearts and Hands.
Phil and Bertha have dedicated their lives to mission work through the church and the community. The church
is pleased to have the opportunity to honor Phil and Bertha’s compassion and generosity through this gift to
Joining Hearts and Hands.
Joining Hearts and Hands is a non-profit 501(c) 3 founded by William and Joanne Cala to promote improved
educational, health and economic conditions for African orphans and their communities by building schools,
sponsoring health clinics, providing secondary scholarships and nurturing sustainable development
initiatives – all to promote dignity, opportunity and hope.
